Leslie has specialized training in the use of equine movement as one of many tools to address issues with mobility, range of motion, balance, coordination, and strength. She has completed Part I and II of the Hippotherapy Treatment Principles provided by the American Hippotherapy Association Inc. (AHA Inc) and is a member of both the AHA Inc. and PATH Intl.
Physical Therapy which utilizes equine movement does not teach riding skills, but focuses instead on functional outcomes in activities of daily living such as independence at home, in school and in social environments. The session is run with a licensed therapist, an equine expert and a therapy horse trained for this specific purpose.
